How to Measure Your Foot
Measure Your Foot Fit
1
Helpful tip: Measure your feet later in the day - feet tend to swell and will be slightly larger then.
2
Before measuring, wear the socks that you plan to use with the shoes.
3
Place one foot on top of a piece of paper on a solid floor or surface and trace the outline of your foot, making sure to point the pen or pencil straight down.
4
Using a ruler or measuring tape, find the longest part of your foot by measuring a straight line from the tip of your longest toe to the back of the heel. For the most accurate reading, use centimeters.
5
Repeat the process on your other foot and use the larger of the two measurements if necessary. You may also want to add 1 to 1.5 centimeters to account for comfortable movement inside the shoe.
6
Use the chart above to find your size. Please note that sizing may vary slightly depending on the style and/or design of the footwear.

    New Winter Boots

Love my new winter boots! They keep my feet warm and cozy, simple to slip into and out of, these boots are cute comfort! Not too heavy on the feet either. And so happy they are even waterproof! I had my last pair of Mukluks for just over a decade, but they were falling apart so I needed a new pair. I don't like the heavy unnatural feel of most footwear, so finding a new winter boot was a little daunting. But I was so happy there was a new Manitobah storefront that opened up close by so I could go in and try some new boots on!

Great but the leather seems sensitive

they are gorgeous and very warm. A little bit tight but I know the fur will settle down.

i was just surprised that the leather seemed to be bruised , just because I put them on. I don't have long sharp nails) I' M a little worried of what will happened just by carrying them. it.s my seventh pair of shoes with Manitobah Mukluk and i've never noticed that.

    Ladies Waterproof Tundra Boots

I like them it’s hard to break them in to Mold to your feet as the no left or right size feels a bit weird.

    Great in the snow!

I love the Fog color, it’s nice for spring and more importantly matches my husky. The boots held up great in deep crunchy snow. I wore them without socks as my feet are wider. The boots were wonderful in icy spots which I needed when the husky decided to take off zooming. My feet stayed dry throughout the day. Perfect for winter and spring snow wear!

    Really nice boots

Long review short, I love these boots and I abosloutley reccomend them!

I wasn’t sure about the fog color but they are actually very pretty in real life and they look good dressed up or casually.

I really like that they are zero drop and have a flexible sole that allows your foot to move, which I think helps keep it warmer. The shaft of the boot is also soft but not flimsy. I can take them off without having to untie the laces every time. They are very light, and they do not feel bulky while walking or driving.

I would say they are very true to size, if you wear them with no socks.

I have a narrow foot and they are pretty snug, not in an uncomfortable way but it will be touching every part of your foot when you put it on. Since it’s leather I expect it will stretch a bit to give a perfect fit.

It also fits snug around the calf, I personally prefer that, I don’t want cold air and snow getting in there. Plus it’s fairly adjustable with the laces, and I’m sure it will stretch a little with wear to get a perfect fit. I like that they can both be worn on either foot too.

I haven’t tested them in very cold weather yet, but I took them out on a day that was about 20-30F and my feet felt very cozy. The vibram soles are no joke, and it’s nice you can feel the ground a little as you walk, I felt very surefooted wearing these boots walking on packed snow with some icy spots.

Frequently asked questions

Absolutely! We make our moccasins and mukluks for everyone. By purchasing from us, you are participating in cultural appreciation, not cultural appropriation. When you purchase from Manitobah, you are directly supporting Indigenous people and celebrating Indigenous culture in an authentic, meaningful way that helping us in our vision to create positive impact in Indigenous communities.

To make our brand more accessible, to support our social impact initiatives, and to allow us to compete with other global fashion brands, we produce our products in international ethical partner factories. Our factory partners that support our growing product line go through an in-depth 3rd party inspection and internal Social Compliance Audit. These high standards are continually monitored and respected. We are proud of our manufacturing policies and our ability to build capacity globally. We believe that our success as an Indigenous business has been due to our willingness to walk forward while honouring our past.

Manitobah Mukluks makes a variety of products that match Canada's diverse climates. We offer select styles of adult mukluks that are waterproof. Those styles are tagged online as waterproof and can be seen here.

Both styles of children's mukluks are waterproof. They have been treated with our AuthenTEC waterproofing system; treated hide and an internal flexible coating that is inspired by pine pitch and spruce gum. Manitobah conducts rigorous waterproof and temperature testing using a minimum 50,000 flex standard.

The rest of the adult mukluks are constructed with natural suede and leather which are not sealed and not considered waterproof. We recommend treating them with a leather/suede protector to help with water resistance and general protection. All of our MUKLUKS are insulated with sheepskin footbeds and most are constructed with untreated suede which is porous (and not considered waterproof). These natural materials need to breathe in order to be effective in extreme cold. Indigenous people have been surviving in the coldest climates for thousands of years using this very wisdom.

Protection: Use a silicone-based leather/suede protector. Do not spray fur, as it contains natural protective oils. We offer a protecting spray as part of our Care Kit here

To Clean: Leather can be cleaned using a gentle soap and soft brush. For salt, wipe down with a damp cloth. Even if they have been sprayed, salt is corrosive and can cause damage.

To Dry: Once wet, allow your footwear to dry naturally

Wear: Never pull fur when putting on or removing boot, fur sheds over time and frequent friction will cause the fur to shed much faster. Cross laces over before tightening to avoid tearing leather eyeholes

Storage: When ready to store them for the season you should clean them, allow them to dry and then pack them away in a sealed container away from heat, moisture and pets (a plastic storage tote works great.) You can also use a pool noodle or something similar in the shaft to keep them upright during storage.

Boots and mukluks with the Two Rivers sole have a more contoured fit with a distinct left and right sole. It offers a closer-to-the-foot feel, supportive midfoot structure, and modern boot comfort. Deep grooves and textured pads provide traction on snow and ice.

Mukluks and moccasins with the Tipi, Suede or Crepe sole are true to size and will stretch slightly with wear to form a custom, comfortable fit. This symmetrical sole without a distinct left or right foot has been used on Indigenous footwear for thousands of years, and the material will form to your foot with continued use.

Moccasins and shoes with the Turtle, Birch Berry and Bear sole have a close-to-the-ground feel with a distinct left and right sole. These soles generally fit true to size, and each sole type offers a unique pattern with texture for traction.

For more information about our soles and sizing, please visit our Soles & Sizing page.

Our sheepskin-lined mukluks are considered one of the warmest winter boots for northern winters and are rated down to -32 degrees Celsius. Partnering with Vibram has also allowed us to design a sole that allows your foot to bend. Research indicates that flexible soles promote proper foot movement and blood circulation to your toes. This means that in cold dry weather, our mukluks will allow your feet to stay warmer than almost anything on the market.
