WHAT YOU WILL DO

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the IT Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, controlling, and evaluating the operations of Manitobah’s information systems and technology infrastructure. This role provides tactical leadership and operational oversight for all technology initiatives within the organization. The successful incumbent ensures that information systems, infrastructure, and digital solutions are secure, reliable, and aligned with business objectives within a retail and e-commerce setting.

LOCATION

This position is hybrid/remote in person in Winnipeg, MB and will be required to report to our Headquarters, located at The Forks as directed.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to: Vice President of Finance.

Key Relationships: Commercial and operations teams.

Direct Reports: No.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement IT strategies, policies, and procedures to support organizational goals while planning infrastructure scalability and aligning to strategic plans.
  • Oversee, govern, and shape key system tools for operational function and data analytics such as Brightpearl ERP, Shopify, BI, and other eCommerce tools.
  • Ensure seamless integration with payment gateways, inventory systems, and CRM tools.
  • Align technology initiatives with business objectives and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (PIPEDA, GDPR, CCPA).
  • Ensure networking security, APIs, and ongoing relationship and supplier management of MSP provider.
  • Seek, identify, and implement business intelligence tools for business process improvements, automation solutions, and reporting insights.
  • Act as primary business partner to support functionality of Shopify, Brightpearl, retail hardware & software, website, and customer service functions. Report and update dashboards based on these systems.
  • Oversee networks and cloud services, track and report on system performance including uptime, latency, and resource utilization.
  • Implement cost-effective solutions for hardware and software procurement; manage subscriptions for tools like Microsoft 365, Shopify, and ERP systems.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive IT management experience is required.
  • Demonstrated forward-thinking approach while leading technology initiatives and projects.
  • Hands-on experience in analyzing business requirements and designing IT solutions in an e-commerce and retail environment.
  • Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and on-premises infrastructure.
  • Experience deploying BI tools, designing and creating analytic reporting and leveraging data for strategic decisions.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field is required.
  • Shopify and Amazon credentials are considered an asset.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
