WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Creative & Brand Manager is responsible for developing and executing the creative vision for Manitobah. The role involves conceptualizing ideas, ensuring brand consistency, identifying and executing brand partnerships and creative resources, and aligning creative execution across various platforms. Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, the Creative & Brand Manager translates business goals into visually compelling and engaging creative.

The incumbent for this position must understand Indigenous culture, storytelling, and artistry. They must be initiative-taking and enthusiastic, able to work in a fast-paced environment while building and maintaining positive relationships.

LOCATION

This position is hybrid/remote. The incumbent will be required to report to our Headquarters, located at The Forks in Winnipeg, Manitoba as directed.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to: Sr. Director of Integrated Marketing.

Key Relationships: Marketing, Retail, Wholesale, E-Commerce and Social Impact teams; Indigenous creators and artists; external creative and media partners.

Direct Reports: No.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Concept and develop relevant creative materials, assets, graphic elements, and communication materials for multi-channel operations including Retail, Wholesale, E-Commerce, and Social Impact.
  • Lead the creative vision and execution for seasonal campaigns, ensuring a strong brand narrative across all channels and mediums.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop visual merchandising materials for the Retail footprint.
  • Contribute to and guide all visual content including photography, video, digital media, and print collateral initiatives.
  • Manage Manitobah's social media channels, including content planning, publishing, and community engagement, and cultivate relationships with creators, influencers, and media partners.
  • Maintain and oversee the standardization and execution of all corporate branding including presentations, templates, and other supporting visual communication tools.
  • Prepare sketches, layouts, and graphic elements using traditional tools, multimedia software, and image-processing, layout, and design software.
  • Develop and manage partnerships with Indigenous creators and artists, ensuring their voices and artistry are authentically represented across all brand initiatives.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive responsibility within a creative design discipline (graphic design, print design, visual design) is required.
  • Experience designing print and digital media, including creating vector designs, is required.
  • Advanced level of experience using Adobe Creative Suite – including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop – is required.
  • Experience in the apparel or footwear industry is an asset.
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities is an asset.

Educational Requirements:

  • Post-secondary diploma or associate's degree in graphic design is required.
  • A university degree in visual arts with specialization in graphic design, commercial art, graphic communications, or a related field is an asset.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work in an office environment; may require long periods at a desk, reading lengthy documents, and time in front of a computer.
  • Hybrid work model based out of Manitobah's Headquarters in Winnipeg, MB; travel may be required up to 10% of the time.
