Ensemble, nous avons transformé ses créations emblématiques en une collection audacieuse qui rend hommage à la terre, à son parcours personnel et aux histoires tissées à travers les générations.

Meet the Featured Artist
Shannon Gustafson

Shannon Gustafson is an Ojibwe artist from Whitesand First Nation, based in Thunder Bay. A full-time multidisciplinary artist, she works in beadwork, textiles, regalia, woodworking, and painting—best known for her floral beadwork inspired by her ancestors.

Deeply committed to cultural preservation, Shannon continues to learn, create, and share her gifts. She’s received multiple Ontario Arts Council grants and was a 2017 recipient of the Hnatyshyn Foundation Reveal Indigenous Art Award. In recent years, her art has been a source of healing, resilience, and gratitude.

Je n'ai pas toujours aimé les fleurs. Ce n'est qu'en m'aimant moi-même que j'ai appris à aimer les fleurs. Comme la poésie, le perlage est la forme d'expression personnelle autochtone par excellence. Cette œuvre représente mon amour pour la terre, les plantes médicinales et la flore. Le perlage est unique. Il est source de guérison. Il est synonyme d'amour.
