Cynthia Boehm

Keeping traditional Indigenous art forms alive by reclaiming and sustaining old style methods, Cynthia is a passionate artist with over 10 years experience. She is always creating, researching, educating, promoting, mentoring, and continually learning from historical ancestral pieces in museum collections. Cynthia was born and raised in Norway House a vibrant community where beadwork and silk embroidery was practiced for decades. She is a proud member of Norway House Cree Nation.

Through her art she tells a story and celebrates her culture and promotes her home community of Norway House. She is most grateful and humbled to practice the art forms passed down by her ancestors in the most respectful and responsible way. Beading is her medicine.

Cynthia shares her knowledge through mentorships and workshops at museums, schools and organizations. Her work is recognized nationally and internationally. She is an award recipient of the Manitoba Arts Council, Indigenous 360 Program and received an award at the 2024 Santa Fe Indian Market in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
