Tamara's Story: Tamara Dickson is a part of the Crow Clan. She is Cree First Nations from Saskatchewan and was born and raised her traditional territory of the Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in First Nation from Dawson City, Yukon. She was taught to bead by her Elders, grandmother and mother at about 10 years old. She includes bear, wolf, crow, and birds into her beadwork. She also uses traditional materials like home-tanned moosehide, stones, antler, and porcupine quills.
