About the Artist: Shaylene Brass is an emerging Cree / Saulteaux Artisan from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Colourful and diverse, Shaylene has been beading beautiful jewelry since she was 6 years old. She was inspired to create her art from watching her great grandmother craft moccasins and jewelry. More recently, she has utilized social media and modern tools to further develop her skills and knowledge. In her free time, Shaylene likes to watch movies and spend time with friends and family. Shaylene is also a recent graduate of the Storyboot School, having created a beautiful pair of mukluks for the first time.
